Troubleshooting

A derived-metric or history chart is empty

Charts for time-in-status, WIP aging, reopens, cycle-time control, open-over-time, and CFD read from precomputed change-history rollups, which are per-project. Check that:

  • the dashboard's dataset is a project (or agile board), not a cross-project JQL — see Datasets;
  • the initial computation has run. It's computed on demand the first time you chart a project and refreshed daily, so very recently changed issues may briefly lag.

Velocity or burndown is empty

Velocity and sprint burndown need a board dataset — specifically a Scrum board with sprints and story points. A project or filter dataset won't populate them. See Datasets → Agile board.

The numbers don't match a Jira filter

A dashboard usually has filters active. Check for:

  • scope filters in the top bar (solid chips) and a created-date range;
  • a cross-filter selection from clicking a chart (outlined chips).

Click Reset view to clear them all, then compare. Also confirm you're comparing the same dataset/JQL.

My custom JQL won't save

The JQL is validated before saving. Read the inline error, fix the query (the editor's autocomplete helps with field and operator names), and try again. See Datasets → Custom JQL.

A cross-project dataset has no derived metrics

This is expected — derived metrics and history are computed per-project. Use a single project dataset for those charts, or a board dataset for agile metrics.

Export produced nothing / was blocked

Exports are generated in your browser. If a browser or sandbox setting blocks the download, you'll see a brief notice. Retry, and check that pop-up/download blocking isn't preventing the file.
